What do we do?
We are an innovative instructional environment and learning laboratory providing challenging, immersive simulation
training for students, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals at the University of Barcelona.
Clinical simulations
We simulate ICU environments and real clinical cases to train professionals in both technical skills and non-technical skills such as communication and decision making.
Skills workshops
So that students become familiar with real prehospital and ICU equipment, we carry out training on specific technical skills such as ultrasound, trauma patient care, mechanical ventilation, ECMO, etc.
Specialization courses
The Simulation Center facilites are the ideal environment to provide short-term theoretical-practical training such as FCCS, FDM, CCUC, SVAT…
Collaborations
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided our facilities so that external companies could develop and test the respirators they manufactured to support hospitals. ECOEs (evaluative processes) have also been carried out by the Semicyuc (Spanish Society of Critical Intensive Care Medicine and Coronary Units), ACVC School, ESC (European Society of Cardiology) and the course of Sistema Català de la Salut: Skills in the management of critically ill COVID-19 patients.
